Note to Avery: this draft covers both the website waitlist and the Green Light app itself, since Google Play Console requires an app privacy policy URL before submission. Read it against what the app actually does — what it stores locally vs. in the cloud, any analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and who your data processors are — and adjust before it’s live or submitted to Play Console.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Green Light website (greenlighttracker.com) and the Green Light mobile app, once available on Google Play and the App Store.
What we collect on this website
If you submit your email address to be notified at launch, we collect that email address and send it to our email service provider, Brevo, to manage the notification list and confirmation email. We don’t use cookies, analytics, or any other tracking on this website. We don’t sell or share your email address with anyone else.
What the app collects
To do its job, the Green Light app collects information you choose to give it about your vehicles, including:
- Vehicle details you add (make, model, year, VIN, license plate, mileage)
- Maintenance records, including photos or scans of receipts and service documents
- Fuel fill-up entries used to calculate fuel economy
- Your account information (such as email address) used to sync your data
How it’s used
Your vehicle data is used to power the app’s core features: logging maintenance, extracting details from scanned documents, checking your VIN against public recall databases, sending you reminders, and calculating each vehicle’s health score. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@greenlightapp.com.
Third parties
We use Brevo to send email (both the launch waitlist and, once you’re a user, account and reminder emails). Brevo processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy and security commitments.
